National Para Teaching Staff Skill Enhancement Workshop(PTSSEW)

National Para Teaching Staff Skill Enhancement Workshop was attended by 43 participants from various parts of India. Participants were from Vasantdeodada Patil Mahavidyaalya, Sangli,Maharashtra; The New College, Kohlapur; Department of Biology, University of Delhi and several colleges of University of Delhi namely Aurobindo College, Kalindi College, ARSD College, Deshbandhu College, Deen Dayal Upadhyay College and Shaheed Rajguru College of Applied Sciences for Women. Three parallel sessions were held for participants of Physical, Chemical and Biological Streams. Some of the sessions were common for all disciplines. College faculty as well resource persons from various institutes and organizations put in efforts to make the program a success.

Inaugural function was held on 15th December 2017, wherein the Chief Guest Dr. Garima Gupta, Scientist E, DBT, addressed the need for such workshops, which help in enhancing the skills of Para teaching staff. Inaugural lecture on work ethics was delivered by Dr. S. lakshmi Devi, Founder Principal, Shaheed Rajguru College.

Following the inaugural day, participants split up into parallel sessions conducted by Instrumentation, Chemistry, Physics, Electronics, Biochemistry and Bio medical Sciences Departments.

All the three groups attended some common sessions again on 20th and 21st December. Mr. R. Manchanda of HD Global Sciences delivered a talk on ‘Repair and maintenance of analytical instruments’ covering various components of spectrophotometer, colorimeter and their troubleshooting.

Dr. Vimal Rarh of SGTB Khalsa College, University of Delhi talked about ‘Safety in lab’. She discussed about various problems and accidents occurring in laboratories, handling of corrosive and dangerous chemicals, first-aid and concept of neutralization of chemicals before they join the drainage system. She also stressed upon reusing and recycling the chemicals as far as possible.

Common session on ‘Professional Grooming’ was taken by Col (Retd.) B.S. Rehal and Mrs. Kulwant Kaur. Delhi visit was organized for participants from outside Delhi on 17th December and they had enjoyable time visiting various historical monuments of the city.

The Valedictory session was successfully conducted on 21st December, wherein the Chief Guest Dr. Suman Govil, Advisor, DBT, emphasized on the important contribution of the Para teaching staff in the uplifment of the organization. Also, she spotted the importance of such workshops, which help in augmenting the skills of Para teaching staff.


International Workshop on New Frontiers in Global Learning and Communications (NFGLC)

College organized a 6 days International Workshop on in Global Learning and Communications (NFGLC) in 2013-14 in collaboration with University of Massachusetts, Boston, USA.

The objective of this workshop was to equip teachers in the field of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) in order to facilitate and enhance the learning process at their respective institution. This training helped teachers and students to learn the use of multimedia, mobile devices, and other digital resources to make learning more interactive, comprehensible and applicable to the large body of knowledge present in today's world.Industry technical experts are also called to practically demonstrate the use of each mechanical, electrical and electronic components of instrument.
